You Weren’t Meant To Fit In

Greetings brothers and sisters.

Today I want to speak to you about not fitting in.

Think back to when you were a kid. You noticed a group of kids whom you want to be friends with but they didn’t want you and they said you were weird, you didn’t fit in to the group.

Even in high school you never quite fit in to particular group, you weren’t popular nor were you on the bottom of the food chain, you were just yourself.

That’s ok, God separated you to be you, not like the rest. You are fearfully and wonderfully made by God’s own hands.

There is this saying, “Not of this world.” We as Christians might be living in this world, but we should not be of it. We were bought with a price.

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:1-6, 8-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When we get saved God tells us straight forward the things we should not do: fornication (sex before marriage), uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, covetousness, idolatry (putting things or people above God), anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth (cussing), laying down with someone as the same as us (homosexuality).

We need to put off the old things we used to do and live for and start living for Christ.

God separated us, it’s time we start taking our calling seriously. We no longer belong to the world, we belong to God.
