“The Leviathan”

Updated: Aug 6, 2023

Hello 👋 😁 & Welcome!

Today’s word is about the spirit and characteristics of Leviathan as he is working in human form and is very much alive on planet earth. Yet, some demons can only be destroyed by the hand of God as it takes more than praying and fasting to combat this creature. The area in which we are most vulnerable and lacking is the area we need to study and learn more about. Leviathan is described as a dragon that provokes fear and intimidation in the hearts of people. His fierceness prevents any man from taming him.

A tool Satan uses is fear and his technique only keeps us at bay, unknowledgeable and allows him authority over us simply by not knowing the power we possess in and through Jesus Christ.

In the Old Testament, Leviathan appears in Psalms 74:14, “Thou brakest the heads of Leviathan in pieces, And gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.” This verse is saying, as a multi-headed sea serpent that is killed by God and given as food to the Hebrews in the wilderness. In Isaiah 27:1, “In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish Leviathan the piercing serpent, even Leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.” Here we see Leviathan is a serpent and a symbol of Israel’s enemies, who will be slain by God.

The book Enoch among many others have been removed from the Bible as we know it because they contained different prophecies pertaining to Christ. On a side note, these other books were found in the Dead Sea scrolls but are not full translations as some

are in Hebrew with some written in Aramaic and a few in Greek, discoveries from the Judaean desert add Latin and Arabic as little pieces of the scrolls have been lost through time. Yet, only God could have orchestreated the way the Dead Sea scrolls were found. There was a little Shepard boy playing in the valley below the caves where the scrolls were discovered between 1946 to 1947. Many thousands of written fragments had been discovered. They represent the remnants of larger manuscripts damaged by natural causes or through human interference.

The Book of Enoch describes Leviathan as a female monster dwelling in the watery abyss as (Tiamat), while Behemoth is a male monster living in the desert of Dunaydian, East of Eden. Leviathan is a prince of the order of Seraphim also known as the highest order of Angels such as Beelzebub, Azazel, Rehabe as these are all fallen angels amongst many others.

The Leviathan is often an embodiment of chaos and threatening to eat the damned after their life. In the end, it is annihilated. More than likely this type of spirit is linked to a principality. Principalities are a higher rank of demonic power. Of course, no power is greater than God’s power, but the enemy is working overtime to hinder the saints as he knows his time is running out.

Revelations 12:12

”Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! For the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”

Ephesians 6, encourages us to put on the whole armor of God so that we can fight the whiles of the devil. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” If you have ever been around someone that keeps confusion going all the time, that is a Leviathan spirit. I have never seen anything like it before until God begin to open my eyes by placing me in a situation where I would come to learn for myself. Yet, that individual cannot stand for there to be peace. That is very troubling, as God is not the author of confusion (I Corinthians 14:33), Some may think causing confusion is a game. The end result can be deadly. Homes have been broken up over the spirit of confusion. Churches have been torn and split apart. Even wars have been started, yet all the while Satan sits back laughing at us because we fail to see he is the one playing havoc in the lives of people creating all this chaos.

James 3:16

”For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.”

Confusion causes restlessness. Even people who believe in Jesus can still be possessed by spirits. The spirit that is in them needs to be replaced with the spirit of truth. Being saved, is a work in progress and comes with many trials, test and challenges. Some in which, we may or may not be equipped for at the time but God is faithfully teaching us on every aspect for the perfecting of His saints. I may suggest taking it a step further in your spiritual development and asking the Lord to fill you with his Holy Spirit. We must continually remain steadfast by reading his word, having an active prayer life and asking God for His spiritual guidance daily as wickedness is running rampant upon the face of the earth.

So, How does a person overcome the Spirit of Leviathan? We have been instructed to fast, pray, and read the word of God. The Bible is crystal clear that some spirits will not come out or stop oppressing us unless we fast and pray. Jesus showed us this example in Matthew 17:14-21, which says, “And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is a lunatic, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water, And I brought him to thy disciples and they could not cure him. Then Jesus answered him and said, Oh faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Bring him hither to me. And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. Then came the disciples apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: For verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.” In this parable the disciples wanted to know why they couldn’t cast the spirit out a boy and Jesus told them that they had unbelief. If they had exhibited faith, they could have cast the spirit out. However, He told them, that particular spirit would not go out unless you fast and pray. Whereas principalities rank at a different degree and higher order that requires deliverance from the hand of God.

Ephesians 4:25-27

“Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members of one another. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.”

II Corinthians 2:10-11

“To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ. Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”

The Characteristics of Leviathan:

•The Leviathan Spirit strips you of your Will to dominate control by intimidation and influence to gain power for the purpose of adaptability.

•The Leviathan Spirit causes people to turn against you, twists your words around, creates separation and divisions so people turn on one another.

•The Leviathan Spirit will keep you bound from your God-given goals as he distracts you from pursuing the thing of God.

•The Leviathan Spirit breaks Covenants that you have in agreement with God such as a marital covenant between your union and God. (Mark 10:9) says, “What God hath joined together, let no man divide or separate.”

•The Leviathan Spirit Twisting Truth (Revelations 22:18-19) “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: and if any man shall take away from the words of this book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the Holy City, and from the things which are written in this book.”

•The Leviathan Spirit Severs the relationship with God just as he did in the garden to deceive Eve, therefore making us separate from God.

•The Leviathan Spirit is anti-God, a stiff necked person involving stubbornness and rebellion once they’ve come under the acknowledgment of Christ.

•The Leviathan Spirit is Hard-hearted and cold because they are callus, uncaring and a false sense of self in order to manipulate and deceive the very elect.

•The Leviathan Spirit Blocks communication with the Holy Spirit therefore having no freedom to flow in the gifts of the spirit and being cut off from communicating with God.

•The Leviathan Spirit is Proud, arrogant and haughty and is not a individuals opinion but a discernment of what lies beneath the surface.

•The Leviathan Spirit is a Whispering liar as we are instructed to cling and to know the voice of God and not being led astray. (John 10:27) “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

•The Leviathan Spirit is Contentious, argumentative and full of pettiness as it displays these characters in order to gain a stronghold over you so he can create a foothold and acquire an advantage over you.

•The Leviathan Spirit Lifts up leaders in order to seek to destroy them by making them a public display and shaming them. (Also known as the Spirit of Flattery)

•The Leviathan Spirit brings Oppression of cruel and unjust treatment leading to depression and suppression being put down by authority in order to gain submission.

•The Leviathan Spirit uses blame and self-pity. After the enemy uses a person he will often turn on them and when we fall into his tactics he uses guilt and entrapment to keep us from repenting and being forgiven from our sins. Remember, Satan uses condemnation and the Holy Spirit brings conviction which leads us to repentance. Therefore, bringing us back to communication with God our Heavenly Father as, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ and have been justified and declared righteous, by the grace through the redemption of Christ our Lord and Savior.

Proclamation to OVERCOME the devil:

“I testify to Satan personally as to what the Word says the blood does for me. Through the blood of Jesus, I am redeemed out of the hand of the devil. Through the blood of Jesus, all my sins are forgiven. The blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, continually cleanses me from all sin. Through the blood of Jesus, I am justified, made righteous, just-as-if I’d never sinned. Through the blood of Jesus, I am sanctified, made holy, set apart to God. My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, redeemed, cleansed, by the blood of Jesus. Satan has no place in me, no power over me, through the blood of Jesus Christ.“
