List of Fears A-Z

Updated: Apr 1

A phobia is an irrational fear of something that’s unlikely to cause harm. The word itself comes from the Greek word phobos, which means fear or horror.

Hydrophobia, for example, literally translates to fear of water. When someone has a phobia, they experience intense fear of a certain object or situation. Phobias are different than regular fears because they cause significant distress, possibly

interfering with life at home, work, or school. People with phobias actively avoid the phobic object or situation, or endure it within intense fear or anxiety.

Yet, Jesus died to give us a more abundant life and live it to the fullest. This list is to educate and let you know that you are not alone as everyone struggles with fear. It's to also encourage you to see how far you've come and to work on the fears you have to overcome and begin to live a life that "Christ," died to give you.

John 10:10

"I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

More abundantly means to have a superabundance of a thing. Abundant life refers to life in its abounding fullness of joy and strength for the Spirit, Soul and Body.

God desires us to learn how to combat ourselves from the armed forces of fear. He can transform the renewing of our minds as we gain a mindset of hope through his word. It will enable us in the battlefield over our reactions. The goal is to obtain a new perspective and improve your quality of life so God's people no longer remain snared and hindered by the Spirit of fear.

II Timothy 1:17

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
