Today’s devotion is straight out of the book of Genesis as it starts and ends with God being our provider. If you find yourself in such a state today, where your back is up against the wall don’t submit to your fears. But stand in your faith and don’t doubt, waver or allow your faith to disappear. For God inhabits the praises of his people and you’ll come to understand, Satan is powerless when we give God praise!! We are the children of the most high and God will fight for you.
Romans 8:31
“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”
Paul continues to offer encouragement to Christians on this side of eternity. It's true that we are suffering, as all of creation is, as we wait to be glorified with God forever. The fact that we suffer, though, does not mean that God is not with us or for us.
Genesis 22:13-18
13- “And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.”
14- “And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.”
15- “And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time.”
16- “And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son.”
17- “That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.”
18- “And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.”
Everything belongs to God. All things come from Him and must be acknowledged as God’s possession. Those who obey what God asks of them, in faith, can trust that God will provide His best for their needs. Three times a year the people of Israel brought their best to God as a sacrifice, trusting that He would provide for their needs. And if you will submit and be in obedience to the voice of God, and not doubt in your heart he will come through for you. Our praise and obedience is the key that brings the blessing. So, remain steadfast and upright before the Lord as you delight yourself in him and he will go before you in all things. 💫
🙏 A Prayer For Provision:
“Dear Heavenly Father, You are Jehovah Jireh, my God who provides. The LORD our shepherd. We boldly confess, we lack nothing! Your grace is sufficient, for Your strength is made perfect in our weakness. You know what my needs are, even before I think to ask. I cast all my cares upon You, Father God, for You care for me. I know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, though He was rich, yet for my sake He became poor, that through His poverty I might become rich. My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Because I know Your name and I have put my trust in You, Lord, You have not forsaken me. For your plans are not our plans, neither your ways our ways. You are God all by yourself and He who will do far exceedingly whatever I can ever hope or imagine as your ways are better and you will provide for me, in Jesus name, Amen!”
