“Anger, Oppression & Self-Control

Hello 👋 😁 & Welcome!

Today’s Word from the Lord is about dealing with Anger through the form of Oppression as God wants to heal our inner wounds and set us free from further self-sabotage.

John 8:32

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

People who are oppressed are treated cruelly, in reference to a person in the family circle with power and authority over another who causes hurtful events by deliberate pain and suffering in order to execute a false self image. Therefore, these innocent individuals are prevented from having the same opportunities, freedom, and benefits as others, due to their need to control. Yet, before they themselves submitted to this type of demonic driven behavior they too fell victimized and oppressed by someone who also carried that same generational controlling spirit.

In essence, people act out through their own fears & insecurities but knowing who we are in Christ and the power we possess through his name will make all the difference in the world by calling out those things in our lives that are not as though they already exist. We have not simply because we ask through selfish desires and not accordingly, to the Will of God.

Satan’s threefold agenda is exposed in John 10:10, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

Psalm 147:3

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

Psalm 103:2-6

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.”

Isaiah 61:1-4

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified. And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.”

I often wondered, how many messages do we need to hear before we get it but as my husband lays in a hospital bed I’ve learned there are some people who need someone who has enough God in them to speak the truth inside their lives and lead them to their truth by dealing with hurtful, painful events that transpired in their lives through the hands of others masquerading around as family. Yet, Jesus not only shows us a better way but teaches us about having self intolerance of the unwillingness to accept views, beliefs, and behavior that differs from our own as it’s sole purpose is to enable us to better manage our emotions without responding to emotional outbursts reactions and remaining under full self-control at all times. The threefold nature of Satan is to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. Satan works in the realm of your emotional state trying to steal your mind, Will, emotions and thinking power and if he can posses that he has everything he needs to conquer you by bringing you under submission to do his bidding in stead of obeying the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 4:26-27

“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: neither give place to the devil.”

II Corinthians 2:11

“Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”

As I begin to study, I discovered we will always struggle with anger as it is an emotion and it will be a constant battle within as long as we live but we can learn to keep it under subjection. Anger is a God given emotion and quite useful as it serves as an indicator when something is off and doesn’t feel right. The underlying cause for anger is disappointment. And the cause of disappointment is expectation but when we’re disappointed we can be reappointed. When we pin point our anger, we begin to realize that it is always about the past. It’s about doing your best in the moment and being understanding of yourself for all the things you didn’t know but have come to the full understanding, the big picture if you will. It’s knowing your truth, learning your reality and choosing to trust God regardless of the outcome and still remain walking in love, deciding to forgive those who trespass against us and deliberately on purpose mistreated you and done you wrong for gain and in their own dysfunction. Yet, one thing I know to be true is people may get by for a time but rest assuredly that nobody ever gets away and God will fix it for you. The Lord showed me how we rank up charges against ourselves when we mistreat another person. He explained how he has to bring judgment on a person when they hurt another person through their words and deeds. Because wounds damage and scar lives and God is totally against that.

Dealing with Anger God’s Way:

1. Restrain It. Proverbs tells us “Fools vent their anger, but the wise quietly hold it back.” This scripture does not mean that the wise bury their anger or do not deal with it, but it means that they control their anger and how they express it. When you restrain your anger, you keep it within limits.

Proverbs 29:11

“A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.”

2. Re-evaluate It. James instructs us, “My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.” God’s way of dealing with anger is to be slow to anger. There are some things that you need to let roll off of your shoulders and not internalize or act on. When you re-evaluate a person’s words or action, you often find that there’s no need to get angry as that person really did not intend to hurt you or was merely acting out of their own biases, which is not a reflection of you but them acting out their own prejudice against a person in a way that is considered unfair.

James 1:19-24

“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.”

3. Release It. Colossians says “But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.” When you deal with anger God’s way he brings healing, restoration and deliverance. A safe and effective way is to seek counseling with your Pastor as talking things through is therapeutic and very beneficial. It provides a new perspective, validates being heard and puts you in position to reciprocate God’s unconditional love for you and helps release the hurt you carry but it also teaches you that you are not alone.

Colossians 3:8-10

“But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in the knowledge after the image of him that created him.”

Yet, Satan will continue to work through people in human form to cause emotional upset but God is saying to us all collectively as a whole that you are going to have to choose on purpose to be happy. For the Joy of the Lord is your strength and he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. God has many benefits for whosoever Will and If you will be obedient to Him as we are all called to serve and know He has called you to do something, you must be committed to press forward, until you have fully accomplished your calling as you were birth with purpose from your mother’s womb.

Isaiah 55:11-12

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”

Proverbs 18:16

“A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.”

It’s already inside you as God is getting ready to make it manifest in your life as your gift will make room for you. You don’t have to push your way to the top because when you are anointed your calling will announce you.

Isaiah 49:25

“But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.”

Power Thought:

Don’t lose your way with every challenge that comes throughout the day. Faith is believing and hope is for achieving, cling to His unconditional love from the start, by allowing him to access your whole heart. We grow in the dark when we seem all alone but in the dark we feel his eternal light. Let’s not be weary, dreams are beginning as long as we hold to his truths, he gives us our hearts desire. Live your story Faith, Hope and Glory his wonders are waiting to ignite. There are Valleys and there are Mountains but God is our foundation that washes all our tears away. Satan is deceptive, his words are swaying and the truth isn’t in his heart but his goal is to tear us apart. Demons bring distraction with false satisfaction and God is saying, refrain from his corruption. Someone is praying, Lord please be with them today. God is faithful, his words are everlasting and one day he’ll bring us home to be with Him.”
