A Restoration Is Coming

Greetings brothers and sisters.

Today I want to talk to you about restoration.

Sometimes in life we go through difficult seasons where it seems like the things we had were taken away from us but the truth is God is preparing you for a better tomorrow.

In the book of Job we see examples of things being taken away, and all of it being not only restored but gaining an increase.

Now in Job it says, “There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters. His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.”

‭‭Job‬ ‭1:1-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Job was upright, feared God and eschewed evil. That word eschewed means to deliberately avoid, so Job deliberately avoided evil.

He was a man whom God had blessed. “His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.”

‭‭Job‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.”

Satan does this, he walks about on the earth seeking those whom can be tempted away from God.

“And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.”

‭‭Job‬ ‭1:6-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In life, sometimes there are things that are totally out of our control, cars breaks down, we lose a job, lose a loved one.

“And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them: And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.”

‭‭Job‬ ‭1:13-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In one day Job lost not only all his livestock, his servants, but his children as well. Can you imagine the heartache he must have went through?

“Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.”

‭‭Job‬ ‭1:20-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Through all of this Job never blamed God, nor got mad at him. He praised God. When we are in the good times we praise God, but when bad times come, where is our praise at? We need to praise him in both and the good and bad times.

Job was in a state of continuous testing by God and torture by Satan. God knew Job’s heart, and Satan wanted to make Job fall. Satan affected him with sores all over his body. His wife turned on him, she said to curse God and die. Sometimes even those closest to us, the devil uses to make us fall into sin. His friends came and worshiped God with Job.

“So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses. He had also seven sons and three daughters. And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Keren–happuch. And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, even four generations. So Job died, being old and full of days.”

‭‭Job‬ ‭42:12-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Look what God did for Job. Not only restored what he had, but gave him an increase and he was able to see four generations down his family line.

Whatever is happening right now in your life is part of God’s plan. Yeah, it might feel uncomfortable, hard, disappointing but God isn’t going to leave you with nothing. He will restore what the devil took. Satan took you good job, God will give you a better one, your car that was breaking down, God will provide a way for a newer model.

Remember that a restoration is coming, trust in God’s plan.
